I try to keep out of it. I've got my mom's bloodiron sword and my slightly illegal home in the basement of the municipal library. And a couple of Talents I try to keep quiet, including very light fingers and a way with a lock pick.
But then some nasty characters bring their Family feud into my friend's pawn shop, and I have to make a call--get involved, or watch a cute guy die because I didn't. I guess I made the wrong choice, because now I'm stuck putting everything on the line for Devon Sinclair. My mom was murdered because of the Families, and it looks like I'm going to end up just like her. . .

This one is for fans of Jennifer Estep. For me it just fell off the boat. To start out it was great. Then they had to make a city in America that is the Most Magical Place on Earth. Rolls Eyes. Shortly after that was noted the book fell apart for me. It felt much like another series about the fey called Glimmerglass where there is a city that is somewhat between the worlds where they can exist in both. And much like that book this one just started to run aground for me. It was annoying on how SPECIAL the main character was as well as the insta love she felt for the love interest Devon. So for me this one turned into a snore fest and I had to put it down.
I have talked with others who have read her other books and it seems this one is on par with those. So if your a fan of Estep then deff pick this one up as its pretty much on point with her other works.
