This book just didn’t work for me at all. I only made it about 40 pages before setting it aside. The idea of her seeing amber colors and having powers tied to her clothes was interesting, but the story felt confusing and unpolished. The dialogue was heavy and messy, she may or may not hear people’s thoughts, and then a random voice in her head appeared and vanished. Add in a too-perfect guy swooping in right away, and it all just came across cheesy and flat. It didn’t feel like the start of an adult romantasy, more like an unfinished draft.
