{Review} Resist @SarahCrossan

Resist (Breathe, #2)
The sequel—and conclusion—to Sarah Crossan's Breathe. Three teen outlaws must survive on their own in a world without air, exiled outside the glass dome that protects what's left of human civilization. Gripping action, provocative ideas, and shocking revelations in a dystopian novel that fans of Patrick Ness and Veronica Roth will devour.

Bea, Alina, and Quinn are on the run. They started a rebellion and were thrown out of the pod, the only place where there's enough oxygen to breathe. Bea has lost her family. Alina has lost her home. And Quinn has lost his privileged life. Can they survive in the perilous Outlands? Can they finish the revolution they began? Especially when a young operative from the pod's Special Forces is sent after them. Their only chance is to stand together, even when terrible circumstances force them apart. When the future of human society is in danger, these four teens must decide where their allegiances lie. Sarah Crossan has created a dangerous, and shattered society in this wrenching, thought-provoking, and unforgettable post-apocalyptic novel.

This one is a sad review!  I ate up Breathe last year when I got it to review.  And I just couldnt wait for book two.  Well it seems that this is not a trilogy but a duology which is fine.  But this one ends with loss and grief.  And although I did care about what happened to the characters I just didnt feel that I cared enough.  This one just wasnt as good as book one.

"*I received a copy of this book for free to review, this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own."

Breathe

Breathe (Breathe, #1)Book Description

October 2, 2012

In a world where air is restricted, three teenagers find out exactly what they will do for the freedom to breathe. A thought-provoking and thrilling dystopian novel full of danger and longing, for fans of Ally Condie.

Alina is a member of the resistance. She steals cuttings from the government conservatories to help replant the now-barren world and trains in deserted alleyways where the air is free. Quinn is a Premium. He's never had to worry about how much it costs to have oxygen flowing into his home. And Bea is his best friend-though she wants to be more-an Auxiliary who thinks of nothing but how much it costs her family to breathe. Ever since the Switch, when the oxygen levels plummeted and most of humanity died, the survivors have been protected in glass domes full of manufactured air. Protected . . . or trapped? Or controlled? When Alina crosses paths with Quinn and Bea, they will not only leave the dome. They will leave everything they know. And they'll do it with only two days'worth of oxygen in their air tanks. Sarah Crossan's unforgettable novel is about passion, about yearning for something better, and about breaking free for the very first time.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“An amazing story! Sit down. Inhale. Now, while you still can.” (Kathleen Duey, author of National Book Award finalist Skin Hunger )

About the Author

Sarah Crossan first had the idea for Breathe when traveling in Washington State. Seeing the logging, she thought, "Don't people understand that we need trees to breathe?" And so began a book about how awful life would be if access to one of our most basic needs—air—were restricted.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Sarah Crossan taught high school English and creative writing. She lives in New Jersey.

My Review:

When I started reading this book I wasn't to sure about it. This book is almost 400 pages and recently I have not had a lot of luck with long books.  It has gotten so bad that I have kind of been shying away from books that are over 277 pages.  I'm also not a big fan of changing POV's and this one did it through the entire book.  But this author does it in such a way that it isnt confusing in the least. This book really surprised me! It was an amazing book with a wonderful cliff hanger!  I cant wait for the next one!
