If you win!

If you win one of our giveaways and you get the link for the form and you do not fill it out correctly we will NOT contact you.  So please make sure you do so.

Site Update! #Giveaways

Hey guys its been a while since we did any kind of updates.  So I wanted to drop you guys a line.

First off If you won something in July/Aug. It will be shipped in Sept.

The other thing is that starting now any books that we have giveaways for (unless its a tour etc)  well be doing the following.

The last week of the month well run a week long giveaway for all the ARCS/Books/Swag etc that we have from that month Then if you win you will get to choose what you win!

Were trying this to make it a little easier to do giveaways.  Trying to do them for each posts has kinda turned into a little hassle right now due to school etc.  So were going to try this out for right now.

Disclaimer: Thanks to Goodreads and Amazon for the book cover, about the book, and author information. Buying via these above links allows my site to get a % of the sale at no cost to you. This money gets used to buy items for giveaways. In accordance with FTC guidelines regarding endorsements and testimonials for bloggers, I would like my readers to know that many of the books I review are provided to me for free by the publisher or author of the book in exchange for an honest review. I am in no way compensated for any reviews on this site. All donations are to help keep this site running via costs from shipping, .com charges, and other giveaways.

Comments are DELICIOUS! and now that were using this new format for comments the TOP 3 Commenters will all win bookish goodies each month! So that is just one more reason to comment!  This is open to everyone!  So get commenting!

Open letter to the #Blogging #Publisher Community at large

I have been going back and forth if I should post this or not.  But after seeing a post about someone saying that my grams really didn't die and that we used stole the money that was raised to go to disney I knew something had to be done.

Before you read the following please note its been a very long three days and well there are more than likely spelling mistakes etc.  Please ignore them.

1. Grams Death and Go Fund Me

My grandma died over Easter Weekend in 2014.   It was very unexpected and we thought she was just going into the hospital to deal with her stomach pains.  I was at an author event here in my town when I received the call that she had passed.  When it came to covering the cost to have her cremated and then sent back to Ohio so she could be buried we found that there was no way we could afford it.  Were not rich, we make no money from this site, and we pay out hundreds of dollars a year in shipping and giveaway costs.  As well as site fees etc.  So I turned to Go Fund Me to see if we could get some help.  Even before doing that we called many churches to see if they could help instead but no one could.  Reaching out to our followers on social media was the last chance before she was going to become a ward of the state.

Having to prove that my grams died is disgusting and hurtful.  Having to think about her death after all this time.......

I still can't believe that people would post about this.  And if you need proof I will scrounge up the death certificate if I have to.

as for disney for those who wish to know.  We get an annual pass to a new park every year. It is our family time.  That year we had passes to Disney. So yes we were there but they had been paid for at the beginning of the year. out of out Tax return.

2. Selling ARCs

For the past 5 years at the end of the year we always had tons of books left. From giveaways where no one entered, to giveaways that were returned because people's addresses were wrong, to giveaways where we had won things that we didn't want, etc.  Every year during the months of Nov. and Dec. we would make up boxes and sell them for shipping only.  This is the first year that anyone has ever said anything about.  Before we did it for all those years we had tired to give them to the schools and libraries and well both didn't even know what an ARC even was.  I had to explain it to them.  So the mystery boxes were born.  We NEVER made anything from them.

3. Mulit Copies of Books

So how did we get all the copies.
1. friends sent us books they didn't want and well we already had most of them.
2. during BEA and Bookcon some things we didn't even realize we had already grabbed. Trust me drive around 1300 miles to spend three days getting up at 3am and then walking around all day (when I was supposed to be in my wheel chair) then driving an hour back to the hotel to just fall in to bed and do it again.  Your brain is so dead that by the end all the covers blend and you have no idea what you have already gotten.  I ended up doing the same thing by day two at ALA but it wasnt as bad I think we ended up with maybe three or four books that were duplicated.
3. for two titles the publisher gave us extra copies for our online bookclub (which consist mainly of bloggers)  So those books went to other people and we didn't keep the extra copies.
4. Also during BEA/Bookcon when in line for titles if it was something we all wanted to read we would each grab a copy.  There were many times when I said no because a title was to old for my youngest whom is only 5 years old.  She didn't need a teen book.  So there were many things we didn't get multiples of at all.

4. Photo floating around social media

The picture that is floating around social media is incomplete.  It is a splice of two photos that were unrelated. The photo with the books is via this years BEA/Bookcon and is a collection of 4 people's books.  It is not just one persons.  We should have all taken separate photos we know that now.  As for the second photo for this years Mystery boxes.  That was cut off so information that was at the bottom is missing.  The bottom stated that each box was slightly above the normal flat rate cost (which is $10 for padded, $15 for med, $20 for large)

Because it also included items that I was purchasing to put in the boxes.  Because in the past these books only contained books but I thought that people would like to get some extra things as well.

5. Updated for what were doing with left over ARCs

Today a teacher contacted us on Twitter saying that she would be more than happy to cover the cost of shipping.  So from now on she is on speed dial for all left over ARCs.  Were happy that the mystery boxes are no longer going to be going on because it was a lot of hassle to do them anyway.  So this solved that issue for everyone.

6. Sorry

We are sorry that this was all blown out of proportion.  This entire situation was been a drain on twitter and the page as well as on us personally.  And we hope that this letter will stop all the drama, bulling, and hate.

7. Unfollowers, Publishers, Going Forward.

We know that this letter is going to reach a lot of people.  And well thats what were hoping for.  We know that a lot of publishers have already removed us from their lists.  And we don't hold any animosity toward you or the authors who have chosen to unfollow us.  We understand that all this drama is not good for anyone out there.   We just hope that going forward we can gain back your trust  . We know that we let you down, but we hope that in time you will give us a second chance. As we love reviewing books, doing giveaways, and meeting authors.

"All opinions are 100% honest and my own."

Comments have been disabled because of more drama, hate, and bulling.  Were done with it and thats that.  If you can't post something nice or constructive then please don't post.  There is more important things going on in the world than nasty comments.  Thank you.

Updates are coming! We love Books!

In the past few months or so blogging has become more of a job than a hobby or just something that I love to do.  And well after last night and a horrid email I recieved I have come to the realization that we need to get back to reading just for the fun of it!   So what does this mean?

Were no longer going to be worried about follower counts
Follow us because you want to see what were doing not because were doing a giveaway

Were no longer going to be worried about viewer counts
View the site because you want to see our posts

Were no longer going to be worried about having posts every day
Posts will still go up but starting in June were going to be slowing down so you may see more posts some weeks and less on others.

Giveaways and Reviews via Publishers
Were still going to do these! So don't worry we love doing giveaways and reviewing for publishers

Other little things will be changing as we go but I really hope that this will take off some of the stress thats been going on.   Because in the end we want to read because we love books and sharing our thoughts not because we have to.

A Day in the life in April!

Well this past week has been well full!  I had a migraine for three days and it finally went away!  Then my mom calls saying that her truck died so that was fun!  No I'm totally Jellies!  The rental car she ended up with for the weekend if a Dodge Charger lol I told her I so wanted to take a ride before she takes it back.  Its prob the only time ill ever get to ride in one!  The best thing is it has push to start which is totally cool.  Weird though you can't turn the radio off so thats really really odd.

In other news I was planning on dying my hair this blue for BEA/Bookcon but gave up the pipe dream and just went violet black.  So it looks pretty nice if I do say so my self.  The other thing which  you will see during my weekly mail haul is I did my nails. Found these really neat Kiss Fantasy Nails no smell they are pretty cheap and well they have lasted for the past day lol (well see how long they last) but they are also pretty.  SPARKLES!!!!

Im still reading like mad!  Were currently up to the 13th. of April.  I so hope to get through some more so I can take a lot with me to the used bookstore in Jacksonville.  Im also hoping to find some stuff that I want.

I finally took the plunge and signed up for a book subscription. I chose Uppercase.

I also joined another online bookclub/site you can find here

A Day in the Life with @WitchReader

Welcome to my post where I share stuff that is going on in my everyday life.  Not sure if this will be a regular meme or not.  Well just have to see how it goes.

So this week I found a great article online about How to Stop Sibling Rivalry in Kids. I thought it was wonderful and wanted to share it with you.

Hello NEW YEAR 2016!

Welcome to the new year!
This year a few things are going to change!  The first thing that you will prob notice is that some of the places you could follow us are gone.  Below are some of the other things that are going on this year!  We hope that this year is going to be awesome!  If there is something that you think we should do this year please comment on this post so we can email you and chat about it.  Were always looking for new things to do.
Posting
One of the biggest things you have prob realized is that we are no longer posting on the weekends. We decided that this will make it so we don't burn ourselves out this year if we have two full days a week to recoup.  If anything does happen on the Weekends it will most likely be a show.  Like the one that is coming up with the author of The Novice for our bookclub!
Following Us
We have decided to get rid things like Linkey and Networked Blogs.  The fact being that linkey hasn't moved in some time and Networked Blogs has been closed and is now a paid service.  So there was really no reason to keep those.
Next on the list is that last year we got a face lift.  So we really love the new layout!  We can have full size banners in our posts and it just looks cleaner!  We all love the wood background and the full size book covers.  We hope you do to!
Bookclub
We have an online book club!  2 books are chosen by a member each month then you can read both or one. Or if neither of them sound awesome you can just skip it. Everyone is welcome and we will be reading mostly Teen Young Adult. Want to join?  You can do so here.
You can join in with the reviews as well. Which post the end of each month.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/NYNBC/
Memes
We have a lot of new memes that are going to start posting if you would like to check those out please go here.
http://www.crossroadreviews.com/p/meme-explained.html

Reading Challenges
We all love reading. And this year we thought that something new we could do is start doing some reading challenges.  They will change every month.  Pretty much the way its going to go is well have one main series that the month will be centered around then one week dedicated to other titles that match the description.

So as an example. For Feb its going to be Fey month. So the main series is going to be the Iron Fey by Kawaga and then the week after well be doing other titles with the fey!

If you would like to join us with all these you can just comment to the post(s) with your own reviews.  Check the calendar for dates.

Booktube
I really hope that we can do more book tube!  I really love all the topics ive seen and although I'm SO not up to par with book tubers like Sasha etc.  I really do still love doing them. (watch her shows they are awesome!)  Im hoping to do a new one at least once a week or so.  If you have a topic you want us to cover just let us know!

Twitter
So on twitter we have been posting/pinning our fav books per week.  Well now that is also going to be posting to the side bar.  I hope that you guys check out these books because well if were posting them THEY ARE AMAZING!

Reviews
Well of course reviews will be the same.  Their format will not change.  The only thing that is going to change is that were going to be branching out and doing products, movies, tv shows, and more!  I hope that you guys enjoy them!
