I SOO can't wait for this book and I am dying for an ARC! So check it out!

Meg has come a long way from her days as a lowly housemaid, driven to learn the truth behind her parents’ murder. She’s since discovered that they were part of the Secret Order of Modern Amusementists — an underground society of inventors. Determined to reclaim her heritage, she joined the Amusementists as an apprentice, but that hasn’t brought her closer to the person responsible for the loss of her family: the man in the clockwork mask.

Now he is coming for her. But Meg is tired of being hunted and she intends to become the hunter. With help from Will, the boy who holds her heart, Meg embarks on an adventure that takes them far from the cold London winter and into the heart of France.

But the City of Light is filled with dark shadows. There’s a plot afoot that could turn the tides of a terrible war, and cost the lives of millions — that is, if it doesn’t take the lives of everyone Meg holds dear, including her own.

SHADOW OF THE WAR MACHINE is set to release February 3rd 2015.

by Juliana Haygert
Genre: NA contemporary romance
Word Count: ~80,000

Release date: June/2014
Cover by: Okay Creations

Summary from Goodreads:
All Beatriz “Bia” Fernandes wants is to prove herself—to her family and friends—though it’s hard to prove anything with an overbearing father and three famous polo-playing older brothers. After her acceptance into college results in a heated family argument, the Brazilian girl leaves everything behind to find her own American dream.

College life away from home is perfect until the people she believes to be her friends turn on her. With lies and rumors threatening to suffocate her, Bia turns to her only freedom. Riding.

But one thing gets in the way of her escape. Garrett Blackwell and his bad cowboy attitude. Working at the ranch is his obligation, bugging Bia is his newfound hobby. His thick skin and easy grin don’t hide what Bia already knows—this misunderstood and lonely cowboy fights his own demons. Brushing horses’ coats and mucking out stalls shouldn’t be this sexy, and it isn’t long before he becomes a part of her distraction.

However, escaping won’t solve her problems, and it’s up to Bia to break down the fences around her and prove her strength—not to her family and friends, but to herself … and for Garrett. Because standing on her own doesn’t have to mean standing alone.

Cover Reveal Organized by:

{Review} Tease by @AmandaMaciel12 {Giveaway} @EpicReads @HarperTeen

TeaseEmma Putnam is dead, and it's all Sara Wharton's fault.

At least, that's what everyone seems to think. Sara, along with her best friend and three other classmates, has been criminally charged for the bullying and harassment that led to Emma's shocking suicide. Now Sara is the one who's ostracized, already guilty according to her peers, the community, and the media.

During the summer before her senior year, in between meetings with lawyers and a court-recommended therapist, Sara is forced to reflect on the events that brought her to this moment—and ultimately consider her role in an undeniable tragedy. And she'll have to find a way to move forward, even when it feels like her own life is over.

In this powerful debut novel inspired by real-life events, Amanda Maciel weaves a narrative of high school life as complex and heartbreaking as it is familiar: a story of everyday jealousies and resentments, misunderstandings and desires. Tease is a thought-provoking must-read that will haunt readers long after the last page.

Biography

Amanda Maciel has worked in book publishing since graduating from Mount Holyoke College and is currently an executive editor of children's books. She spends her free time writing, running, and helping raise her young son with her husband and their cat in Brooklyn, New York. TEASE is her first novel.

So I was so excited about this book!  It tells the story of the bad, mean girls who drove a girl to commit suicide.  The issue I had with this book was that we didn't get to see Emma side of the story.  Only getting one side paints a very clear picture. and in this book you get one of two girls who don't care what happened.  Its just an inconvenience that they are being sued by the parents of the dead girl.  This book has a lot of Slut-Shaming as well as a lot of pathetic actions.  The book even starts out with Sara saying that she doesn't care what happened.   The thing I did love about this book is the relationship that Sara had with her brothers.  She took very good care of them pretty much being a co-parent.

In the end I really didn't see much character development with Sara.  I didn't see her grow to be a better person and to really be sorry for the actions she did that lead to Emma's death.  She saw herself as the victim for most of the book and the ending was just 5 pages of Sara figuring out that what she did was wrong.

The overall feel of the book for me didn't make me feel like this book would inspire people to stop being bullies.  There was no lesson to learn, and most of the teens just got off with easy to no charges, just by pretending that they were sorry.  With this kind of book I really think that there should have been more character growth and a lesson that really grabs the reader.  It was a wonderful oportunity to write a story that could have been used in the classroom.  To really show how bad it is to bully and the consequences that can and will happen if you are one.

I really wish I hadnt read this one so fast after the first one.  It is repeats on things that happened in book one constantly.  Although that irritated me a little, I think that it will come in handy for kids who have an issue remembering what they have read as well as those who do not get to read these one right after the other.  This story picks up a few months after the first book and will take kids on an exciting journey through the lives of 4 kids who are training to become Magi. It was a great continuing story and I so cant wait to get a hold of book three!

{Review} Blur by @sjamesauthor {Giveaway} @NightOwlReviews {Published} @amazon

Blur         The isolated town of Beldon, Wisconsin, is shocked when a high school freshman’s body is found in Lake Algonquin. Just like everyone in the community, sixteen-year-old Daniel Byers believes that Emily Jackson’s death was accidental. But at her funeral, when he has a terrifying vision of her, his world begins to rip apart at the seams.

Convinced that Emily’s appearance was more than just a mere hallucination, Daniel begins to look carefully into her death, even as he increasingly loses the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality.

What’s real? What’s not? Where does reality end and madness begin?

As Daniel struggles to find the truth, his world begins to crumble around him as he slips further and further into his own private blurred reality.

Full of mind-bending twists and turns, Blur launches a new trilogy of young adult thrillers from Steven James, a master of suspense.

I see dead people........

Most people live with no connection to the other side.  But Daniel isn't so lucky.  He finds himself delving into the death of a girl he didn't even know very well.  And as time goes on her death seems more and more like murder.  So as the vail that separates the living from the dead weakens for Daniel he finds himself not being able to separate the living world from the dead.

This one was great.  The characters were put together very well.  They seemed whole and fully developed.  I could really relate to Daniel and what he was feeling.  The mystery in this book was amazing.  You just didn't know what was really going on until the very end when the secrets started leaking out.  All of my guesses on how this one was going to play out were completely wrong.  So it is definitely and edge of your seat thriller with a paranormal twist.  The ending was even more amazing and I was sucked in until the last page.  This book was a haunting, creepy, mystery, read that will make you wish you had its sequel.  The author has well deserved the title Master of Suspense.

When I started this book I didnt hold much out for it.  Ive read a lot of middle school books and they have fallen flat via the plot and the characters.  But, surprisingly this book not only supassed what I was expecting but it blew up in my face and made me read it in a day (ya took about three days getting ready for school) But it was just a wonderful surprise!  I am so glad that I got to not only read this. But, also share it with my 9 year old whom loved it even more!  She is currently re reading it to her two year old sister!  This book is full of wonderful characters and would appeal to both boys and girls of middle school age or even younger.  So if you love fantasy or are a fan of Harry Potter or Percy Jackson etc. Than deff pick this book up!
