#Review & #Giveaway of MouseHeart by Lisa Fiedler #Published @simonschuster

The Warriors series meets Redwall in this first book in an epic animal adventure series set in the subway tunnels of Brooklyn.

Hopper is just an ordinary pet shop mouse before he escapes. Soon he finds himself below the bustling streets of Brooklyn, deep within the untamed tangles of transit tunnels, and in Atlantia, a glorious utopian rat civilization.

But all is not what it seems. Though Hopper is treated as a royal guest, he misses his siblings that he lost in the escape attempt. That, and Atlantia is constantly threatened by the rebels who wish to bring the city to its knees. And there are cats everywhere in Atlantia, cats that leave the citizens unharmed… and no one can seem to answer why.

Soon, Hopper is caught in the crosshairs of a colossal battle, one that crosses generations and species. As the clashes rage, Hopper learns terrible, extraordinary secrets: Deadly secrets about Atlantia. Painful secrets about his friends.

And one powerful secret about his destiny.

#Review The Ice Cream Queen of Orchard Street by @SusanJGilman #Giveaway @GrandCentralPub

The Ice Cream Queen of Orchard Street: A NovelIn 1913, little Malka Treynovsky flees Russia with her family. Bedazzled by tales of gold and movie stardom, she tricks them into buying tickets for America. Yet no sooner do they land on the squalid Lower East Side of Manhattan, than Malka is crippled and abandoned in the street.

Taken in by a tough-loving Italian ices peddler, she manages to survive through cunning and inventiveness. As she learns the secrets of his trade, she begins to shape her own destiny. She falls in love with a gorgeous, illiterate radical named Albert, and they set off across America in an ice cream truck. Slowly, she transforms herself into Lillian Dunkle, "The Ice Cream Queen" -- doyenne of an empire of ice cream franchises and a celebrated television personality.

Lillian's rise to fame and fortune spans seventy years and is inextricably linked to the course of American history itself, from Prohibition to the disco days of Studio 54. Yet Lillian Dunkle is nothing like the whimsical motherly persona she crafts for herself in the media. Conniving, profane, and irreverent, she is a supremely complex woman who prefers a good stiff drink to an ice cream cone. And when her past begins to catch up with her, everything she has spent her life building is at stake.

This is a laugh out loud read!  I think it has a little to much word use of the word Darlings.  But other than that I didn't have any issue with this one.  The cover is cute and quirky and the story is just brilliant and complicated.  The cover however donesnt really match the story.  But, Im on with that.  This one gives you an insider look at the live and hardships of immigrant life and should not be missed.

#Tour #Giveaway #Review of Chantress Alchemy (Chantress Trilogy #2) by @AB_Greenfield #Published @SimonTeen

Lucy races against time and magic in this sequel to the “richly and thoughtfully written” (Publishers Weekly) Chantress.

Lucy is the last Chantress, the only remaining girl who can sing magic into the world. Since she defeated the evil Lord Scargrave, England has changed—and not for the better. With crops failing and the people rebelling, Lucy is called urgently back to King Henry’s court. His Inner Council is convinced that making gold through alchemy will save England. But a critical element to the alchemical process has been stolen. Lucy is tasked with finding it with her magic… or else. And until she succeeds, the castle is on lockdown.

Court too has changed. Scargrave's brutal Chantress-hunter has become King Henry's closest advisor. Lucy’s beloved Nat has fallen out of favor and is shunned by his colleagues; their romance means trouble for both of them. Worst of all, something goes wrong with Lucy’s magic. The palace is a labyrinth, and there’s a monster at its heart — a monster who may have the power to defeat Lucy once and for all.

Amy Butler Greenfield returns to the beguiling world of Chantress for a suspenseful tale of courtly intrigue, music, and magic in Chantress Alchemy.

#Review of Pop Art: Decorating & Shaping Custom Cake Pops by Kris Galicia Brown #Published @CedarFortBooks

Pop Art: Decorating & Shaping Custom Cake Pops                                                        You've never seen cake pops like these! Hot Air Balloons, Pineapples, Robots, and Easter Baskets---cake pop artist Kris Galicia Brown shows you how to shape, dip, and decorate over 40 amazing designs. Make your cake pops phenomenal with Pop Art!

Website | FacebookOk, on to my background info. I’m pretty sure some of you are curious as to who the hell this chick is that makes these crazy cake pops…

Well, it was by accident that I found out I had this random talent of making crazy cake pops. Before this journey into the sweets and cute food world, I was in advertising. I worked for, which at the time, was one of the top 10 ad agencies in San Diego. I started as an intern and hired on while still in college; I have a BS in advertising & design. I did the majority of the graphic design work and played a huge role in the art direction and conception of the jobs. So anyway, this explains my eye for detail and always producing “clean” works. I also do my own photography. I have a high standard of quality when it comes to things I produce, whatever it may be.
Long story short, I was pregnant when the economy went down the toilet. After having my first daughter, when it was time to go back to work, there pretty much was none. The agency (like any other ad agency) lost accounts and had to make cuts. I was cut. For more on this author visit her website.

I have to say that I ADORE this book. It has great recipes for all kinds of Cake Pops.  From Cows to Strawberries to even a Barbecue Grill. This book has easy to follow recipes that all ages will be able to follow and do.  This would be great for parities as well as all functions where you need something creative.
