Biography
Amanda Flower, an Agatha-nominated mystery author, started her writing career in elementary school when she read a story she wrote to her sixth grade class and had the class in stitches with her description of being stuck on the top of a Ferris wheel. She knew at that moment she'd found her calling of making people laugh with her words. Her debut mystery, Maid of Murder, was a 2010 Agatha Award Nominee for Best First Novel and the first in a series featuring amateur sleuth India Hayes. In July 2012, Amanda will debuting her second mystery series, the Appleseed Creek Mystery Series, which is set in Ohio's Amish country. After a tragedy Andi and her sister Bethany are sent to live with their aunt. But in the events that follow Andi finds something mysterious that links to the past. The mysterious thing is in a hidden trunk in the attic wall that provides proof that another Andora lived in the town during the Depression era. This book was a great mystery for kids ages 9 and up. My 9 year old had no issues reading this one in a day. She said it was very cute and even though it dealt with the death of family that the story was very good.
