{Review} {Giveaway} Cracked @ElizaCrewe

Cracked (Soul Eater, #1)
Meet Meda. She eats people.

Well, technically, she eats their soul. But she totally promises to only go for people who deserve it. She’s special. It’s not her fault she enjoys it. She can’t help being a bad guy. Besides, what else can she do? Her mother was killed and it’s not like there are any other “soul-eaters” around to show her how to be different. That is, until the three men in suits show up.

They can do what she can do. They’re like her. Meda might finally have a chance to figure out what she is. The problem? They kind of want to kill her. Before they get the chance Meda is rescued by crusaders, members of an elite group dedicated to wiping out Meda’s kind. This is her chance! Play along with the “good guys” and she’ll finally figure out what, exactly, her ‘kind’ is.

Be careful what you wish for. Playing capture the flag with her mortal enemies, babysitting a teenage boy with a hero complex, and trying to keep one step ahead of a too-clever girl are bad enough. But the Hunger is gaining on her.

The more she learns, the worse it gets. And when Meda uncovers a shocking secret about her mother, her past, and her destiny… she may finally give into it.
Eliza CreweEliza Crewe always thought she’d be a lawyer, and even went so far as to complete law school. But as they say, you are what you eat, and considering the number of books Eliza has devoured since childhood, it was inevitable she’d end up in the literary world. She abandoned the lawyer-plan to instead become a librarian and now a writer.

1 Star
This one I had high hopes for.  I loved the idea!  You soon learn that she is a demon which was great! I have read so many books about angels that reading from the other side sounded like a win to me.  The issues started rising when she is saved by non other than a hunky hot crusader~member of an elite group of bikers! that is dedicated to wiping out Meda's kind.  Yes I said bikers whom live in a trailer park and run a school.  That is where it all really fell apart for me.  I just couldn't get into the story. This one has a weird narrating that made it hard to read the book.  Meda is a very sarcastic character and is always seeming to be joking and being sarcastic which really got in the way of the pacing and it made me start to hate her.  This one just really felt like a mash up of eye rolling, monosyllabic, unfluent writing.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood! Thanks for the giveaway!

I can't wait to finish the Shatter Me series either : )

I can't wait to see how The Hollows and The Arcana Chronicles will end. Love both of the series and am both excited and sad to see them end.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi! It has been an absolute favorite of mine since book 1. Thanks for the giveaway!

LOL when I like a series I don't want it to end and am always looking forward to the next adventure. Those favorites become like longtime friends that you see or talk to maybe once a year. Some longtime series I follow and really enjoy include the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison, Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, Harry Dresden's series by Jim Butcher and so very many more. All of these have snarky humor and I am curious if I will feel the same as you did when reading this book. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and for the giveaway opportunity.

Series I can't wait to finish? So so many: The Grisha Trilogy, DoSB, The Raven Cycle, Demonica/Lords of Deliverance, Lunar Cycle, Lightbringer, Demon Cycle.... :)
