#Review of A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes #2) by @sabaatahir @RazorbillBooks

A Torch Against the Night takes readers into the heart of the Empire as Laia and Elias fight their way north to liberate Laia’s brother from the horrors of Kauf Prison. Hunted by Empire soldiers, manipulated by the Commandant, and haunted by their pasts, Laia and Elias must outfox their enemies and confront the treacherousness of their own hearts.

In the city of Serra, Helene Aquilla finds herself bound to the will of the Empire’s twisted new leader, Marcus. When her loyalty is questioned, Helene finds herself taking on a mission to prove herself—a mission that might destroy her, instead

I was so excited to finally get to this book!! I read book one earlier this year after it was chosen for my online Bookclub. And t so didn't disappoint. I was slightly worried since it was in dual POV as those tend to be hit or miss with me. But that book was beyond amazing!!

Well book two we get an extra POV of Helen and I can't tell you how excited I was to read in her pov. This author knows what's she's doing in the POV you won't feel lost or confused. It works with flow!!!

This story picks up right where book one left off. I thought early on that it was going to be Helen that says them all since she has that healing power. But how wrong was I!!  I can't wait to see what book three brings us!  I can't say to much about what happened as I don't want to give it away. But let's just say that what happens to Elias I NEED TO KNOW!!!!

The story is a little slow in spots but it worked well for this story. The characters all grow just a bit and were introduced to new characters that I'm sure will pop back up in book three. There is a LOT of death and gore in this so be warned!!

The slight love triangle that was in book one gets solved by the end of this book AND YOU WONT BELIEVE HOW!! I WAS LIKE WHAT WHAT!!!!!!!

The ending of this one doesn't really end on a cliffhanger and although yes I would love to read book three now. I won't be dying inside while I wait a year for it.
