#CQWeek2017: A Dangerous Year (Riley Collins, #1) by @kestrester #Giveaway #BookReview @CuriosityQuills

Welcome to this year's #CQWeek were so excited to share these titles with you!  We loved this title and the story was so good!  Check it out and don't forget to enter the giveaway and come back later for more!

Seventeen-year-old Riley Collins has grown up in some of the world’s most dangerous cities, learning political strategies from her ambassador dad and defensive skills from his security chief. The only thing they didn’t prepare her for: life as an American teenager.

After an incident forces her to leave her Pakistani home, Riley is recruited by the State Department to attend Harrington Academy, one of the most elite boarding schools in Connecticut. The catch: she must use her tactical skills to covertly keep an eye on Hayden Frasier, the daughter of a tech billionaire whose new code-breaking spyware has the international intelligence community in an uproar.

Disturbing signs begin to appear that Riley’s assignment wasn’t the walk in the park she’d been promised. Now, Riley must fight for her life and Hayden’s, as those around her reveal themselves to be true friends or the ultimate betrayers.

A native of Los Angeles, Kes Trester’s first job out of college was on a film set, though the movie’s title will remain nameless because it was a really bad film. Really.

As a feature film development executive, she worked on a variety of independent films, from gritty dramas (guns and hotties) to steamy vampire love stories (fangs and hotties) to teens-in-peril genre movies (blood and hotties).

Kes produced a couple of independent films, both award-winners on the festival circuit, before segueing into television commercials. As head of production for a Hollywood-based film company, she supervised the budgeting and production of nationally broadcast commercials (celebrities, aliens, talking animals!) and award-winning music videos for artists such as Radiohead, Coldplay, and OKGO (more celebrities, aliens, and talking animals!).

In an attempt to raise kids who could actually pick their mom out of a line up, Kes turned to writing fulltime. Her contemporary novels for young adults are cinematic, fast-paced, and above all, fun. Add an understanding husband and pack of rescue dogs to the mix, and that’s also an apt description of life in the busy Trester household.

Here is another Fav of mine from this years event!  OMG this one starts off with our MC kicking some butt and saving a girl. Riley has to be one of my favorite characters this year. She protects those who can't protect themselves and she isn't scared to stand up for others.  This one was well paced with a great heroine.  I couldn't put it down and I am SO happy that its a series. The story was well written and flowed so well.  Kes knows how to write man so keep an eye on this one!!  I really liked how empowering this book was.  This high-tech, fast paced thriller was kick butt man! The cliffhanger at the end will make you cry that you don't have book two so be warned for that one! Its a bookslump in the making.
