#Shelfie with Book Covers

Welcome to this week's Shelfie!  This week we're talking about Covers! What goes into making covers? How are they created? And why do some authors choose covers that in my opinion just suck!  So here are a few tips that in my opinion, all authors should strive for.

So you wrote a book and now what? O right you need a cover!  So what do you do now? Its time to get out there and get that amazing cover for your book!  So what do you want? Do you express your inner self or your book's?

Here are some tips!

1. Use bright bold colors!
I have seen many colors that just dont work together and all they do is blend and make the cover look muddy and cheap.

2. Objects.
If you have objects in your cover make sure to use ones that match your story as well as are easy to find. I have seen ones where the item is something that doesn't really exist so if this is the case make sure you have a good design team.

3. Match the Title and Story
I have seen a ton of books like Twilight etc that the cover and title don't really match the story. And sometimes that works great. But other times it doesnt and it just dont draw the eye. Make sure to use something that matches something in your story.

Here are some great articles about Covers!
