#BookTags: READER PROBLEMS

This weeks tag is Reader Problems and I have to say that with way things have been going around here I have a few issues.  I swear if one more person in this house gets sick or the school calls me again about the little one missing days and I am going to explode.
So the first issue is how do you pick a book off your tbr?

For me I started doing my weekly TBR Reading Challenge Giveaways again. So its my followers and fans that will be picking out books for me.  However, another great way to pick books goes with the next question.

If your already into a book and its boring or you're just not loving it what do you do?

I give each book 50 to a 100 pages to see if I like it.  But recently I found something out.  It seems that I can pretty much just read the first chapter for some books and know if it's something that I am going to enjoy.  So a great idea to weed out books you own. Is to just grab a few of them and read the first chapter.  If you want to keep reading it after that put it back in your TBR and well if you don't look it up on Goodreads and see how its ratings are.  For me a lot of the books that I ended up not getting past the first chapter have really bad reviews and they are noted as being boring and just meh.

Reading Challenges Do you do them?

Another great idea to get through your TBR is to do challenges.  For me I joinned the group via Epic Reads called A Year of Epic Reads.  This group gives you weekly prompts to read for.  And so far they have really helped me get through a few books.

Another issue is covers not matching.

I have to say that this bothers me so much. I think the worst one out there has been the series by Sabaa Tahir.  An Ember in the Ashes series has gotten a new cover for the first three books and each time they have gotten worse.  The first two cover changes were fine but that third one was just ugh.  I am not feeling it at all.  But I do still have that ugly copy of book three.  I am kind of hoping we get a new set coming out soon. LOL  I really want the UK hardbacks becuase those are amazing.
