#BookDiscussion: How do you choose books?

Welcome back to these featured posts.  Today's discussion post is about How Do I Choose Books?  This is actually a very simple answer but I am going to break it down for you.  So how do I choose books?  Join me on this small list of reasons why I choose a book to read.
First off its all about the cover.  When it comes to choosing books I first have to fall in love with the cover.   I generally don't look at the book flap at all.  The only times I really tend to look at the flap are times when a book that someone else recommenced to me.  Or if I like the cover but its just a little off or something then I will look at the flap.

The only other times I look at the flap is if its a book I've heard about and I just don't really like the cover.  Very few books that I have ended up loving have had covers that I almost hated.

Other than those above I pick and choose books that look like something that I would read.  The only time this changes is when I get books via book boxes and things coming in the mail from publishers that we didn't request.

At those times I read the flap and then if its not something that sounds like I would want to read it.  I post it to my group of reviewers who then pick and choose to review.

So how do you choose books to read?  Is it hype, the book flap, the cover, or do you have friend throwing books at you telling you to read them and read them NOW on penalty of death?  Let us know in the comments!!
