#BookReview: Tempted: An Enemies-to-Lovers Mafia Romance: Extended Edition (Mafia Sinners Book 1) by Anna Ray

Synopsis: Mixing business and pleasure was one thing, but no one said anything about mixing in love.

Daniel Moretti is, without a doubt, the most insufferable boss I’ve ever had. Between his flirty comments and hot-and-cold behavior, he drives me insane. Something about his protective nature, though, whenever the slimy criminal mobster, Salvatore, slides near me, and the way he seems to open up to me at the strangest of times, keeps my thoughts hooked on him. Him being the sexiest man I’ve ever seen sure doesn’t make it easier to avoid the temptation.

Laura Byrne. Out of all the personal assistants I’d hired over the years, none were like her. Sexy and curvy, but with an elegance that had me captivated. She’s so obedient and does everything I ask, but still, she challenges me. I swore I’d never let another woman get close to me again, but something about Laura pulls me in. Even as she struts around the office in her tight dresses, I wasn’t going to let her in, no matter how tempted I was.

As tensions between Daniel and Laura grow hotter, so do the stakes. A corrupt business deal drives a wedge between them when someone in the mafia decides Daniel and Laura are getting too intimate.

Anna Ray is a romance author, breaking into the genre with an extended edition of her new novel: Tempted: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance. Tempted is the first stand-alone novel in her mafia series. Readers love the steamy chemistry between Daniel and Laura, so be sure to watch for her upcoming romances.

Sultry stares, passionate embraces, and suspense await you inside Tempted. This enemies-to-lovers romance will have you flipping the pages, begging Daniel or Laura to make the first move!

My Review:
As much as I love mafia romances this one fell a little short for me. It felt more like a work place romance as there was more focus on Laura working for Daniel than there was on Daniel being in the mafia. Most of the book references Daniel trying g to stay out of the family business only to get sucked i to a deal he doesn't want to help his dad who is in need of money. Other than his one business deal there's not really any mafia action. The characters were a little frustrating for me. Daniel, our main male character starts out sleepy and only hires Laura because he intends to sleep with her but with no warning he has feelings for her and spends most of the book sending her mixed signals and pretending he doesn't want her. Laura is less frustrating but starts as a good girl thats says she won't ever sleep with her boss but get one margarita in her and she starts thinking about it. Once Daniel decides he wants her their romance goes incredibly fast. The sex scenes were nice and steamy which was great. And I loved the ending for our two main characters,  I was happy to see they got their HEA. Overall it was an enjoyable story.
