#BookReview: The Bone Knife (Dauntless Path #1.5) by @BooksByIntisar

Synopsis: Rae knows how to look out for family. Born with a deformed foot, she feigns indifference to the pity and insults that come her way. Wary of all things beautiful, Rae instantly distrusts their latest visitor: an appallingly attractive faerie. Further, his presence imperils the secret her sister guards. But when the local townspeople show up demanding his blood, Rae must find a way to protect both her sister’s secret and their guest. Even if that means risking herself.

The Bone Knife introduces Rae, the heroine of The Theft Of Sunlight (March 2021). Look for The Bone Knife at the back of your copy of Thorn (HarperTeen/Hot Key 2020).

My Review: This was a nice short novella at the end of Thorn and it was great.  It introduces new characters and gets you to fall in love with a new story. I can not wait to read the next book which I have on stand by.

From the Author

Writing fantasy has been one of my lifelong passions. I wrote the first draft of Thorn during my senior year in college. I had always wanted to write a novel, so I challenged myself to write a chapter a week. I decided to use one of my favorite Grimm's fairy tales, "The Goose Girl," as the basic storyline and optimistically set to work writing. How hard could it be if I already had the plot? I remember sitting down to read my completed first draft and nearly falling asleep. Suitably chastened but undaunted, I spent the next ten years on revisions and rewrites. I worked through about 13 drafts before deciding to publish. I hope you'll find this story as enthralling as I have. --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.
