#BookReview: The Seekers of Genesis: Empyreal Roots by C.J. Walters

Synopsis: There are three possible fates for Seekers. Some successfully complete their trials and take their rightful place in Glanching society. Others fail and are banished for eternity. Those who break the Rules are annihilated.

This truth has never bothered resolute Villow Verchant.
Everyone knows he will become a Guide Seeker and successfully re-create an Original Species, destroyed eons ago in the War of the Fiends.

His reckless twin, Dameaon, barely thinks about it.
He’s too busy aimlessly living from day-to-day. Not that it matters. Their father has Dameaon’s life planned out; he will become a Soldier Seeker and fall into line.

But then everything changes on their sixteenth birthday.
During their Path Ceremony, Dameaon finagles his way into the Guide Class, shocking everyone. To avert disaster, Villow and Dameaon are assigned as co-Guides, with humankind as their Original Species. When the twins teleport to Earth, they struggle to find common ground, putting their success in jeopardy and leaving the humans caught in a tug-of-war for survival—or destruction.

My Review: This story that is over 400 pages was amazing. I loved every page and need more.  The characters and world building were spot on and I could not put it down.  This was something fresh and new for the fantasy world of reading. I am excited to see more from this debut author.

C. J. Walters was born in a small town in Pennsylvania, where she spent her formative years making up fantasy worlds with her older brother. She now lives in Connecticut with her husband and their three lovable cats. When she’s not writing, she’s exploring other worlds through reading or video games.

With the help of copious amounts of coffee, she completed her first novel The Seekers of Genesis: Empyreal Roots and is currently working on the second book in the series.
