#BookReview: After the Plague (After the Plague #1-3) by Imogen Keeper

Synopsis: From award-winning Imogen Keeper, comes a new gut-wrenching saga filled with danger, darkness, and insatiable romance.

99% of the population dies due to a strange unnatural virus, leaving 1% grieving, scared, desperate, capable of anything, plunged into a world without laws, and no one to enforce them anyway.

Frankie has zero skills to survive, but when she loses the love of her life, she discovers an untapped well of hope and courage inside herself – to find the others, the left-behind survivors who must now rebuild in the face of gathering clans, rising dictators, and everpresent danger.

When Yorke, a lone soldier, who never wanted a family, finds Frankie, he has a single burning conviction: if anyone will make the rules in this strange new lawless world, it will be them.

Before the apocalypse they were strangers. Now their lives will forever be entwined.

This special edition set includes the first three volumes in one sexy, seductive, breathtaking story that blends romance, adventure, and hope into an unforgettable read. Fans of Laura Thalassa and Diana Gabaldon will love this Romantic saga.

My Review: I was super excited for this one.  I love dystopian books and this one seemed something that I would enjoy and it was all three books so I only had to wait for book four.  Sadly, though this one didn't up as good as I thought.  I made it through the first book in this collection of books 1-3.  It was ok at best but pretty slow.  I wished that there would have been another aspect to this one other than this virus. It kind of reminded me of the Stand by Steven King but a lighter version without all the religious overtones.  Which was fine but I just needed more.

An Amazon best-selling and award-winning author, Immy specializes in all things Romance. Her books are a shade too dark to be light, and a tinge too light to be dark, but always fun and sexy with a hint of danger.

She read her first official bonafide capital-R Romance novel at summer camp at the tender age of 12. The dog-eared, water-logged tome featured a mistaken identity, a secret duke, lots of Victorian-age carriage rides, ballgowns, ripped bodices, and stolen embraces.

It was instalove--for Immy and Romance. Her life evolved into illicit trips down the shameful Romance aisles of big-box bookstores, hidden paperbacks under the mattress, and vivid daydreams of kisses and HEAs.

The daydreams ballooned, and one day, they started flowing into the keyboard into the form of books. The flow could not be stopped. Nothing else would do. And a Romance novelist was born.

In addition to writing, Immy loves her children, her husband, books about steam and darkness, flowers (even if she accidentally shmurgles half of them), coffee, DIY projects, sunshine, guacamole, and sticky toffee pudding.
