Week 17: Books, Life, and a Little Bit of Chaos with @ReaderLatte

Welcome to Books, Life, and a Little Bit of Chaos with @ReaderLatte! Each week I will be pulling back the curtain on my current review stats—aka the towering list of books I still need to tackle across different platforms (yes, it’s a lot 😅).  I’m also giving a little update on life behind the scenes, where things have been just as chaotic as my TBR. Whether you’re here for the bookish chaos or the real-life updates, thanks for being part of the journey!

Book Stuff

When it comes to book stuff, I honestly didn’t think I’d be tackling any of my NetGalley books anytime soon, but the titles for Edelweiss flew by faster than expected. I’ve now completed all the reviews for the Young Adult and Sci-Fi/Fantasy sections, finishing up with a total of 53 books still left to read. The Romance section, however, is still on my radar with over 200 books waiting, but that’ll be another project for another day.

On a positive note, I’ve also made significant progress with NetGalley and the nearly 200 books there. I’m down to just 23 books remaining before I’m completely caught up once I finish all the posts.

Below are the current stats with the reviews I have scheduled on the site. It’s going to be an interesting week ahead, and it’s honestly amazing what you can accomplish in just two days!

Life and Chaos

Life Update: April 2025 – Holding On Through the Heat

We’re officially back in the car again—for now. It’s been a tough stretch lately, and while we were hoping to catch a break, life had other plans. Both of our cars needed repairs, and unfortunately, it wasn’t something my husband could fix himself this time. That meant a few nights in a hotel so the work could be done, which maxed out all of our cards once again.

Since then, we haven’t received any donations, and now we’re struggling to keep up with bills. The heat is becoming our worst enemy during the day, though we’re grateful the nights are still hanging around the mid-60s—for now. We’re hoping that trend continues a little longer.

We’re still waiting on our tax return, and my mom is in the final stretch of her settlement, so there is hope on the horizon. We just need a little help to make it through these next few months. After that, we believe we’ll finally be able to leave this life behind and move into a place of our own again.

If you’re able to help in any way—whether by donating or even just sharing—know that it means the world to us. Every little bit brings us one step closer to stability.

Thank you for continuing to be here with us. 💛
