When a dream shows her the genocidal evil that is Argasis the 13th, she must kill him before he executes his one sign repopulation utopia comes to fruition. Failure is a road that leads to death and the loss of her loved ones, all because her and 11 others are vessels for the zodiac signs.
Can she really slay Argasis and not lose herself in the zodiac war? Or was her fate already written at birth by the stars above?
This was such a creative take on the zodiac concept. I loved the idea of the signs being living, breathing forces with real power and real stakes. The story moves with purpose, and there’s a strong sense of destiny woven throughout that keeps everything feeling intense and meaningful.
Serenity’s journey feels driven and determined, and the bigger conflict hints at an epic fantasy adventure still to come in the series. It definitely sets up an intriguing foundation for what’s next.
Also, the ebook formatting is absolutely gorgeous. The detailing and edging design make it such a visually pretty reading experience.
