Biography

Krystal Wade can be found in the sluglines outside Washington D.C. every morning, Monday through Friday. With coffee in hand, iPod plugged in, and strangers - who sometimes snore, smell, or have incredibly bad gas - sitting next to her, she zones out and thinks of fantastical worlds for you and me to read.

How else can she cope with a fifty mile commute?

Good thing she has her husband and three kids to go home to. They keep her sane.

Krystal Wade writes Teen Ya

How long have you been a writer?
My whole life. I just didn't realize it until 2011.

What Genre do you write?

I write all sorts of genres: fantasy, horror, sci-fi, thrillers. But so far I only have fantasy and an upcoming thriller/horror. All my books will fall into young adult or middle grade fiction.

How did you get interested in writing this particular genre?
I love reading YA and MG because these stories are full of hope and firsts!

What's a typical working day like for you? When and where do you write? Do you set a daily writing goal?
I squeeze in writing whenever I can. But there are also times when I don't write anything; all I do is read, read, read. I'm in one of those periods right now. Sometimes writers have to recharge their love of reading before the words flow.

What is the hardest part of writing for you?
Remembering to write for myself.

What’s the best thing about being an author?
Having young people reach out to me and tell me that my books inspired them to write. THAT is one of the greatest compliments ever.

What are you working on now?
I'm working on the second book in my Shattered Secrets series, as well as a new, top-secret book.

Do you write full-time or part-time?
I write part-time. I'd love to make this a full-time job. You should help me out!

If you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be?
She Made It!

What book are you reading now?

Disclaimer: Thanks to Goodreads and Amazon for the book cover, about the book, and author information.

I am looking forward to starting Shatter Secrets, and I hope you enjoy reading CoHF.

I must say that you bio is one of the most honest ones that I have read thus far. I am not sure if I am envious that you meet so many people or grateful that I don't?!
