It’s said this sorcery protects king, country, and order for thousands. This one was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The writing had a lyrical, almost dreamlike quality that I really appreciated, and there were moments that felt genuinely powerful. But overall, it didn’t fully pull me in. The pacing dragged in places, and I found it hard to stay connected to the characters. It wasn’t a bad read by any means, just one that didn’t leave a huge impact.
