This sequel to The Scorched Earth kept me hooked with its mix of family drama and environmental stakes. Syrah and Romelo’s opposing views on saving the planet made for some tense, emotional moments. The world-building around the sequoias and the underground realm was super cool. If you like stories about tough choices and nature, this one’s worth the read.
