#Bibliomania: The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles #1) by @marypearson

A princess must find her place in a reborn world.

She flees on her wedding day.

She steals ancient documents from the Chancellor's secret collection.

She is pursued by bounty hunters sent by her own father.

She is Princess Lia, seventeen, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan.

The Kingdom of Morrighan is steeped in tradition and the stories of a bygone world, but some traditions Lia can't abide. Like having to marry someone she's never met to secure a political alliance.

Fed up and ready for a new life, Lia flees to a distant village on the morning of her wedding. She settles in among the common folk, intrigued when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deceptions swirl and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—secrets that may unravel her world—even as she feels herself falling in love.

So what to say about this one..........I need book two now not in a month!  I have to say that.  Although this one does end on a cliffhanger its not one that will kill you until July when book two comes out.  So don't worry.  You can read this one now and then go on to another book.  You won't die.  This one was very good.  Not omg you have to drop everything and read this now or your going to die good.  But def. worth the read.

Ok so first off mystery!! This book gives us a VERY good mystery all wrapped up around the two guys.  One an Assassin sent to kill Lia and the other the Prince she was supposed to marry before she did her runaway bride thing. Chapters are told in differing POV between Lia, The Assassin, The Prince and then later on Kaden and Rafe who are the Prince and the Assassin.   And we get one POV via Lia's friend at the end.  Now myself a friend were both reading this and at the time I didn't know it was supposed to be a big old mystery until I asked the author.  Well shortly after that I SO cheated and skipped to the end and well I was right about who was who.  So I kinda wish that the mystery would have been a little more mysterious.  I know from reading the reviews on Goodreads that some people guessed wrong.  Maybe its just me..........

Ok so the story itself was great.  I wasn't a fan of this authors other books but this one is staying on my shelf and yes I am wanting book two.  Its fast paced, easy to read, and doesn't shy away from the blood guts and gore.  (although we don't get to much description on it.) The ending was a cliffhanger but as I said above its not to bad.  And well if you think there is a love triangle there isn't Lia knows who she loves end of story.  Now there is a love triangle via the boys.  As both he prince and the assassin fall for her.  So I guess you could say that there is one its just not your typical one.

As for the characters!  I loved everyone! They each had their own voice and even without the chapter headings I think I would have known who's POV I was in.  Even the side characters were great.
