The Pool Boy's Beatitude by D.J. Swykert

In space, the expansion of the universe exceeds the speed of light. In a jail cell the speed of light slows, time ages and deteriorates slowly to a crawl.

Jack Joseph understands physics. He understands the nature of quarks, leptons, dark matter and the desire to find the God particle. What Jack doesn’t understand is Jack.

He has a Masters degree in particle physics, an ex-wife, a sugar mama, a passion for cooking and chronic dependencies he needs to feed. He cleans pools to maintain this chaotic lifestyle.

Spinning about in a Large Hadron Collider of his own making, the particle known as Jack is about to collide with a particle known as Sarah.

So Jack Lee Joseph is everything.  From an alcholic to a poet, to a lady's man, to a pool boy, to even having a degree in Particle Physics.  Which to tell you the truth was kinda neat.

Well in this book is wife tells him either he stops drinking or he can get out.  Which points to her for that one.  But as a lot of times it goes.  The booze wins out.  (sad face)

This was a really weird book where Jack takes pills and booze to cope and well has multi flings with multi women. All while cleaning pools, and trying to figure out the answers to life questions as what are we here etc. And to get rid of these questions he dives head first into more booze and more pills.

Well I have to say that I felt more sorry for his wife than him.

This one is a real downer for most of the story.  With Jack taking pills and booze I mean where are the people to intervene? So although the writing was well done.  I really just couldn't like Jack.

 Go Into This One Knowing
Well written, fast paced, alcohol/Drug Usage
