#BookBlitz: The Statistically Unlikely Rebound by #ParkerElling @RABTBookTours

Grad or Die Romance, Book #1

Romance, Contemporary Romance

Date Published: February 14, 2026

Two fake-dating mathematicians create all kinds of chemistry in this forced proximity STEMinist romance for fans of Ali Hazelwood and Abby Jimenez.

Mathematician Daisy Zhang-Wainwright’s fiancΓ© Ethan unceremoniously dumps her 29 days before she’s due to move cross-country to be with him and start a new university job. But Daisy’s always been stubborn, and she’s not about to turn down a postdoc at MIT over a failed relationship, so here she is, in a last-minute apartment with minimal furniture, no friends, and a dumpster fire of a bank account.

To make matters worse, her new downstairs neighbor is Professor Lars Berg-Anderson, Ethan’s academic rival, infamously cold and notoriously antisocial. Daisy has barely settled in when she discovers that not only is Ethan in a new relationship, it’s with Daisy’s new potential colleague… who is pregnant. Daisy doesn’t need her math PhD to work out that the two relationships overlapped.

So when the happy couple arrives at Daisy’s house-warming party, what can she do but impulsively suggest Lars kiss her? Lars might be MIT’s ice man, but he’s also objectively hot. But, the more time they spend together, the harder it is for either of them to maintain appropriate boundaries. Daisy’s not ready for anything serious and Lars believes relationships have an “unfavorable benefit to effort ratio”, so these two are definitely way too smart to get emotionally entangled in a for-show, completely fake, rebound. Right?

Book Cover
Synopsis: THE CHOSEN ONE

I vow. You vow. We vow.

Barrington University is home of the Lords, a secret society that requires their blood in payment. They are above all—the most powerful men in the world. They devote their lives to violence in exchange for power. And during their senior year, they are offered a chosen one.

People think growing up with money is freeing, but I promise you, it’s not. My entire life has been planned out for me. I never got the chance to do what I wanted until Ryat Alexander Archer came along and gave me an option for a better life. He offered me what no one else ever had—freedom.

I chose to be his. He made me believe that anyway, but it was just another lie. A way that the Lords manipulate you into doing what they want.

After being sucked into the dark, twisted world of the Lords, I embraced my new role and allowed Ryat to parade me around like the trophy I was to him. But like all things, what started out as a game soon became a fight for survival. And the only way out was death.

This book can be read as a standalone but the timeline of the Lords books is as follows:
The Ritual
The Sinner
The Sacrifice
Sabotage (the H isn't a Lord but he works for a Lord)

#BookReview: The Fake Divination Offense (Magic and Romance #2) by @sara_raasch

Book Cover
Synopsis: Sports romance gets a Dungeons & Dragons makeover with the next book in the Magic and Romance series that follows half-giant Orok, forced into a PR relationship with a feisty, fan-favorite cheerleader.

Orok star defensive tank on the Philadelphia Hellhounds rawball team. Half-giant. Patron Urzoth, god of strength . . . only Orok’s tired of being tied to a god known for aggression. So (don’t tell his mother) he’s planning on renouncing Urzoth.

Until the cult of Galaxrien, Urzoth’s sworn enemy, ends up causing a lot of damage through their ill-advised attempts to summon him, and the followers of both deities find themselves blamed for the long-standing feud and its ramifications.

Alexo cheerleading intern with the Hellhounds. Smells like apples, which Orok only knows because he picked Alexo up. Accidentally—Orok publicly saves Alexo from a bar fight, and fans go feral for the muscly pro athlete being protective of the pint size dude-in-distress.

That’s enough to have the Hellhounds and Urzoth’s church both coming to them with a Orok and Alexo will start a PR relationship to put a positive spin on Urzoth. Orok is all set to refuse—and finally separate from Urzoth—when the team offers Alexo a starting spot on the cheerleading squad to play up the star athlete and cheerleader optics. It’s such an obvious dream come true for Alexo that Orok finds himself agreeing to the arrangement like the sap he is.

He can keep living a lie for a bit longer. But Orok starts to wonder if they can drop the fake part of this fake-relationship…
