{Review} Til Death by @KateEvangelista {Giveaway}

I am so happy to be able to share this amazing book with you!
Sixteen-year-old Selena Fallon is a dreamer.  Not a daydreamer, but an I-see-the-future kind of dreamer. Normally, this is not a problem, as she has gotten pretty good at keeping her weird card hidden from everyone in her small town. But when Selena dreams of her own rather bloody death, things get a little too freaky—even for her.
Enter Dillan Sloan. Selena has seen the new guy in a different dream, and he is even more drool-worthy in person. Beyond the piercing blue eyes and tousled dark hair, there is something else that draws her to him. Something…electric. Too bad he acts like he hates her.

When Selena learns she’s being targeted by a force bigger and darker than anything she ever imagined, she’s had enough. Despite her death dream, Selena is not going to give up easily, especially when she discovers that Dillan isn’t what he seems…and might not actually hate her after all. Dillan might be the only person who can save her.

Biography

When Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing. She is the author of Taste, Reaping Me Softly, Til Death, and Impulse. To learn more about Kate, please visit her website at www.kateevangelista.com or follow her on Twitter @KateEvangelista

This story is psychic meets exiled hottie.  I have to say that I loved the dual POVs it was nice to have that at the start of the series vs. somewhere in the middle like so many other books out there.  I will say that the cover is what first drew me to this book like so many it is breath taking!  Well the story was filled with twists, turns, lies, and an ending I didn't see coming.  This will deff. be one of those books that I will be keeping an eye out for book two.  The characters were great. Each one had their own personality and flair.  This was an excellent start to a great new series.

{Review} Far From You by @Sharpegirl {Giveaway} @DisneyHyperion

Far From YouSophie Winters nearly died. Twice.

The first time, she's fourteen, and escapes a near-fatal car accident with scars, a bum leg, and an addiction to Oxy that'll take years to kick.

The second time, she's seventeen, and it's no accident. Sophie and her best friend Mina are confronted by a masked man in the woods. Sophie survives, but Mina is not so lucky. When the cops deem Mina's murder a drug deal gone wrong, casting partial blame on Sophie, no one will believe the truth: Sophie has been clean for months, and it was Mina who led her into the woods that night for a meeting shrouded in mystery.

After a forced stint in rehab, Sophie returns home to a chilly new reality. Mina's brother won't speak to her, her parents fear she'll relapse, old friends have become enemies, and Sophie has to learn how to live without her other half. To make matters worse, no one is looking in the right places and Sophie must search for Mina's murderer on her own. But with every step, Sophie comes closer to revealing all: about herself, about Mina and about the secret they shared

  About the Author

Born in a backwoods cabin to a pair of punk rockers, Tess Sharpe grew up in rural Northern California. Following an internship with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, she studied theater at Southern Oregon University before abandoning the stage for the professional kitchen. She lives, writes, and bakes near the Oregon border. This is her first novel.

This teen murder mystery will have you wondering who did what until the last page.  I felt sorry for Mina as no one believed her when she said that she was clean.  Which happens more than you think.  People fear so much that their kids etc are going to laps back because it is so easy.  This was an edge of your seat thriller with heart and shouldn't be missed!

{Review} The Edge of Falling by @RebeccaSerle {Giveaway} @simonteen

The Edge of FallingGrowing up in privileged, Manhattan social circles, Caggie’s life should be perfect, and it almost was until the day that her younger sister drowned when Caggie was supposed to be watching her. Stricken by grief, Caggie pulls away from her friends and family, only to have everyone misinterpret a crucial moment when she supposedly saves a fellow classmate from suicide. Now she’s famous for something she didn’t do and everyone lauds her as a hero. But inside she still blames herself for the death of her sister and continues to pull away from everything in her life, best friend and perfect boyfriend included. Then Caggie meets Astor, the new boy at school, about whom rumours are swirling and known facts are few. In Astor she finds someone who just might understand her pain, because he has an inner pain of his own. But the more Caggie pulls away from her former life to be with Astor, the more she realises that his pain might be darker, and deeper, than anything she’s ever felt. His pain might be enough to end his life…and Caggie’s as well.

  About the Author

Rebecca Serle is the author of When You Were Mine, and is an obsessive lover of all things pop culture. She blogs about The Vampire Diaries for New York Magazine’s Vulture, and can be found on Twitter @RebeccaASerle. She, like Caggie, lives in Manhattan—just far from the Upper East Side.

Sorry ill redo this review here in a few days. My back is screaming at me the more I type.  So this one was wonderful.  Thought provoking and a little more on the serious side of the teen scene. I really enjoyed the character trials as the story progressed and Caggie's journey.

From Alexandria’s point of view

Never taking his eyes off me, he rested his hand on my shoulder, and then gingerly slid down my arm, giving me pleasurable tingles…EVERYWHERE. Afraid to move the tiniest of my muscles, I felt locked in place. I was enjoying him far too much. I didn’t want it to end. When he finally reached my hand, he pulled it up to his mouth and made the most pleasurable groan I’ve ever heard. Looking exhausted and dazed, he shifted his eyes to the cookie in my hand, and mumbled slowly, “I think I’ll have that cookie now.”

Nothing registered until I saw his lips part, and my fingers disappeared in his mouth. Oh. My. GOD! My pulse skyrocketed, and I whimpered from the warmth of his tongue and the sensation that shot up my arm. My fingers were very wet sliding out of his mouth. I even felt the feather-light graze of his teeth; and I could swear every single muscle in my body became limp.

His jaw worked quickly, chewing. It was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen. He made eating a cookie SO hot. After he swallowed, he turned the other way, picked up my cup of milk, and chugged down whatever was left.

Looking like he couldn’t believe he just drank milk, he placed the cup down. “Good night, Alex. Don’t ever go racing without me,” he ordered, and then he left.

What just happened? Milk and cookies will never be the same for me…EVER.

It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children’s chapter book-No Bullies Allowed.

When sixteen-year-old Alice is diagnosed with leukemia, her prognosis is grim. To maximize the time she does have, she vows to spend her final months righting wrongs—however she sees fit. She convinces her friend Harvey, whom she knows has always had feelings for her, to help her with a crazy bucket list that’s as much about revenge (humiliating her ex-boyfriend and getting back at her arch nemesis) as it is about hope (doing something unexpectedly kind for a stranger and reliving some childhood memories). But just when Alice’s scores are settled, she goes into remission.
Now Alice is forced to face the consequences of all that she’s said and done, as well as her true feelings for Harvey. But has she done irreparable damage to the people around her, and to the one person who matters most?
Julie Murphy’s SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY is a fearless and moving tour de force about love, life, and facing your own mortality.

This was such a great book!  It is a deff must read for this reviewer!  This would best be called the Anti-Fault in Our Stars instead of the characters crying over the fact that they are going to die.  This one is a no nonsense story about a girl who is not going to take death lying down! She is going to live and die on her own terms. Writing wrongs and kick death in the face!

[THIS IS NOT NECESSARY. YOU CAN DELETE IT IF YOU DON'T WANT IT IN YOUR POST]

“Julie Murphy weaves together a tender and funny tale of love, friendship, heartache, and redemption. SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY explodes with brutal honesty, brilliant wit, and unflinching heart.” (John Corey Whaley, winner of the Michael L. Printz Award for WHERE THINGS COME BACK)

“Julie Murphy’s SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY is a funny, heartfelt, honest look at the beauty and the risk of getting a second chance. An inspiring novel about all the things worth living for. I adored this debut!” (Siobhan Vivian, author of THE LIST)

“A funny and touching novel about a strong-willed heroine who finds facing death simple, but facing life heart-wrenchingly complicated. A real original.” (Jennifer Echols, author of GOING TOO FAR)

{Review} Cured by @WiggB {Giveaway} @bwkids

CuredNow that Fiona Tarsis and her twin brother, Jonah, are no longer beasts, they set out to find their mother, with the help of Bowen and a former neighbor, Jacqui. Heading for a safe settlement rumored to be in Wyoming, they plan to spread the cure along the way--until they are attacked by raiders. Luckily, they find a new ally in Kevin, who saves them and leads them to safety in his underground shelter. But the more they get to know Kevin, the more they suspect he has ties to the raiders. He also seems to know too many details about Jacqui and her family—details that could endanger them all. For the raiders will do anything they can to destroy the cure that would bring an end to their way of life. Bethany Wiggins’s reimagining of our world after an environmental catastrophe won’t fail to stun readers.

Biography

Bethany Wiggins has always been an avid reader, but not an avid writer. She failed ninth grade English because she read novels instead of doing her homework. In high school, she sat alone at lunch and read massive hardback fantasy novels (Tad Williams and Robert Jordan anyone?). It wasn't until the end of her senior year that the other students realized she was reading fiction--not the Bible

Several years later, Bethany's sister dared her to start writing an hour a day until she completed a novel. Bethany wrote a seven-hundred page fantasy novel that she wisely let no one read--but it taught her how to write. The rest is history.

OMG so if you thought book one Stung was good well this one is even better!  Filled with new characters that take center stage this one will have you screaming for more!!  This is deff becoming a series that I want to see become a movie or Tv series.  And I can't wait to see what else Bethany Wiggins has to offer us!  She is an amazing writer who has some wonderful stories up her sleeve.

Dont forget to check back tomorrow for my review of Cured and join us for the #ReadOn March 22 at 4pm to chat with the author!!
