#Review of I Am the Weapon by @AllenZadoff #Published @lbkids

Previously published under the title Boy Nobody

They needed the perfect assassin.

Boy Nobody is the perennial new kid in school, the one few notice and nobody thinks much about. He shows up in a new high school in a new town under a new name, makes a few friends and doesn't stay long. Just long enough for someone to die -- of "natural causes." Mission accomplished, Boy Nobody disappears, moving on to the next target.

But when The Program assigns him to the mayor of New York City, things change. Somewhere deep inside, Boy Nobody is somebody: the kid he once was; the teen who wants normal things, like a real home and a girlfriend; a young man who wants out. And who just might want those things badly enough to sabotage The Program's mission.

In this action-packed series debut, author Allen Zadoff pens a page-turning thriller that is as thought-provoking as it is gripping, introducing an utterly original and unforgettable antihero.

I didnt know what to expect with this one.  But after getting around 50% through it.  I ended up skipping to the end to see what happened.  And I was not impressed. This book about a boy assassin was very blah to say the least.  It started out pretty good but then just kinda died on me.  It was paced pretty well but the story felt like it didnt have a soul.  It didnt give me a reason to keep reading.  I just felt like I was reading words on a page.  The story didnt hold my attention anymore. The main character thinks in a very analytical way. So much so that I was rooting for the people who were trying to kill I'm the second time.  (its early in the book).  I think that if the main character Boy Nobody would have more feeling or something the book would have been much better.
So I am sad to say that this one was a DNF.

"All opinions are 100% honest and my own."

This book sounds more up my sister's alley than mine.

The blurb actually seemed kind of interesting to me.
Though "Boy Nobody" reminded me of "Nobody Owens" from "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman. It's not like there is an endless supply of names out there.... but when I read that they have the characteristics to go unnoticed.... you can't blame me.
Still, I've always had a thing for assassins books. :)
