#Review of Burning Kingdoms (The Internment Chronicles #2) by @LaurenDeStefano

Danger descends in the second book of The Internment Chronicles, from the New York Times bestselling author of The Chemical Garden trilogy.

After escaping Internment, Morgan and her fellow fugitives land on the ground to finally learn about the world beneath their floating island home.

The ground is a strange place where water falls from the sky as snow, and people watch moving pictures and visit speakeasies. A place where families can have as many children as they want, their dead are buried in vast gardens of bodies, and Internment is the feature of an amusement park.

It is also a land at war.

Everyone who fled Internment had their own reasons to escape their corrupt haven, but now they’re caught under the watchful eye of another king who wants to dominate his world. They may have made it to the ground, but have they dragged Internment with them?

Ok so this one doesn't really suffer from book two syndrome BUT, It is kinda all over the place.  The book starts out shortly after book one lefts off. Were on the ground.  We find out that they have mermaids, and other creatures that well we don't have and of course the sky people don't have either.

It is a pretty good pace for the book all the way through until you start getting to the end.  Then all H** kinda breaks loose. From the war that is raging on the ground, to Celeste starting to have feelings for the oldest child of the kings right hand man to the ground trying to get back to Interment. This book really gets fast towards the last pages.  It doesn't end on a cliffhanger like book one did. So although I am excited to get book three next year (hoping) I won't be crying my eyes out until then.

Towards the end this one also hints at a love triangle (a good one)...Kinda not even a love triangle. Its kinda hard to explain without giving the story away. But someone decides that she needs a new path.  I so can't wait to see what they do with that in book three.

I really also hope that we get to see learn more about the world of the ground. Beyond the little that we know.

And again I really love the UK cover!!! The one above is not as pretty.

 Go Into This One Knowing
Good paced then fast!!!, hints of a love triangle (but a good one), no cliffhanger
