#Review of Lucy by Randy Cecil @Candlewick @_AwesomeAnnie

A tiny dog, a kindhearted girl, and a nervous juggler converge in a cinematic book in four acts.

Lucy is a small dog without a home. She had one once, but she remembers it only in her dreams. Eleanor is a little girl who looks forward to feeding the stray dog that appears faithfully beneath her window each day. Eleanor’s father is a juggler with stage fright.

Randy Cecil has illustrated more than twenty books for children, including Brontorina by James Howe, And Here’s to You! by David Elliott, and Lovabye Dragon by Barbara Joosse. He is also the author-illustrator of Duck and Gator. Randy Cecil lives in Houston.

This was a very cute little book about a little dog named Lucy.  She would go to this house to get fed. It was also about a little girl and her dad and his juggling.  The story follows along with all three characters.  We really loved the circle story (each page has an illustration in a circle with the story underneath.) It was pretty inventive.  We do wish that maybe parts of it would have been in color but all in all it was an enjoyable read.
