On the surface this book is about a black teen boy getting shot by a white man in a city's rough neighborhood. And the white man goes free. But deep down the story is about perceptions, expectations, stereotypes, fighting to defend yourself, trying to honor morals and do whats right, finding ones' path, grief, race and relations. The multiple POV's give this book even more depth. I think it this is an important, diverse story that everyone should read.
