#AuthorInterview with @AdriArrington #CQWeek2017 @CuriosityQuills #Giveaway

Welcome to day two of this year's #CQWeek!  We hope that you enjoy this interview with the author of Bleed Through! We just LOVE this cover (see it above) that blue smoke is like epic!

Born to an Air Force JAG father and an artist mother, Adriana learned from an early age there are at least two sides to every story, and each deserves to be told. After a nomadic upbringing, she married a southern charmer and settled down permanently in his home state of Virginia. To satisfy her enduring wanderlust, she transports herself to the sometimes scary, sometimes beautiful, but always interesting worlds in novels. Formerly an IT consultant to the DoD, she now writes the stories banging around in her head.

Where can readers follow you?

What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?
In BLEED THROUGH, my debut novel, Liam struggles to differentiate between his hallucinations and newfound paranormal ability to see past events.

Who is your publisher? or do you self-publish?
I’m fortunate to be published by Curiosity Quills Press.

What can we expect from you in the future?  ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre?
I’m just about finished with a new book, but this one is a Young Adult novel. However, I don’t stray far from my paranormal roots and that element is definitely still included.

4What genre would you place your books into?
My books often bend genres. They typically are thrillers with a paranormal aspect.

Where do you get your book plot ideas from? What/Who is your inspiration?
I often get plot ideas after reading news articles. For example, I once read about a psychiatric hospital in Japan with an entire wing reserved for those experiencing psychosis as a result of video-game addiction. That inspired me to write my Young Adult novel. Other times, I’ll pull from my personal life. I owe the inspiration of Bleed Through to my grandmother. A vibrant woman who loved life, her positive energy charged the atmosphere of every room she entered. She was also a woman of secrets, treasuring them and storing them away where only she knew they existed. The last of her generation in our family, I can’t fathom that these secrets simply vanished when she passed. Perhaps, somehow, they are strong enough to linger with us.

Do you have a certain routine you have for writing? ie You listen to music, sit in a certain chair?
Definitely. I get situated at my desk and wait for my cat, Odin, to jump onto my lap. I usually start writing without any music, but have a playlist (heavy on Santigold) that I’ll put on if I need some inspiration.

Do you choose a title first, or write the book then choose the title?
I usually choose titles when I’m about halfway through writing a book.

Is there a certain Author that influenced you in writing?
Definitely Stephen King. I love how he combines character-driven fiction with the paranormal.

Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate or White Chocolate?

DARK CHOCOLATE. Milk chocolate will suffice in a pinch, but white chocolate is just plain nasty.
