#BookReview: Shepherds' Mayday by Helen Bea Kirk #Giveaway

Drake knows something must change. His personal life is about to be the ruination of his professional career. Jerod doesn’t know it yet, but the solution to his own problem lies with someone else’s death. The Shepherd brothers’ silent pleas for help are heard, but no one could imagine how the answers would come.

Life-changing events, forces of nature, life-saving surgeries and a bizarre twist of fate that some might call a miracle. These are the events that tie together the lives of bored, playboy dentist, Drake Shepherd, his munitions expert FBI agent brother, Jerod, a famous composer and a palm reader who owns a tanning business. The mingling and merging of these and other souls is a tale that will transport you from the beach elegance of Santa Barbara to the insane yachting party life aboard the Wide Open, in New York. From our nation’s capital where a horrendous accident has Jerod clinging to life, to the Oklahoma heartland where a tornado leaves Trish and Meredith homeless.

Helen Bea Kirk will move and uplift you with this story of tragedy, loss, redemption, and belief featuring characters so vivid and so true that you will come to consider them friends.

For many years I was a "closet writer". Faithfully making character and plot notes for the day when I would bring it all together in a book. Well, it finally happened! The late-night scribbled ideas began to merge when I was bedridden in 2012. Writing helped me keep my sanity while I healed from surgery. To give credit where it is due, my husband and children have always been amazingly helpful and encouraging of all my projects; writing included. They say the best stories come from experience. To a degree, I believe that. I know I have been redeemed personally, and my Redeemer lives, so I do enjoy the subject of redemption in all its forms. Being a family-centered person, my stories always involve family or families.
Travelling has been a wonderful life's education for me, however, no matter how far I have travelled, the United States is my home; my stories reflect my appreciation for this continent as well. All Helen Bea Kirk's novels include suspense, drama, romance and some humor. After all, I'm just imitating life.

I would love to interact with you on my blog at HB Kirkpublishing. com

Regards,

Helen

I really wanted to love this one but it had some issues.  I think that if an editor would have taken a better look at this one they could have been fixed but as it sits it just didn't work out for me.  The story at large was ok at best for this reader.  I think this one could be a great story if it was just checked over again for errors.  I try to not look at them but sometimes it's just too much not to.  This one had good pace and great characters but the errors and inconsistency just outweighed the pros.
