And if that isn’t enough, her boyfriend, Arik, is acting strangely. Like, maybe she should be calling him “ex,” since he’s so into another girl. About the Author: Brenda Drake is a New York Times bestselling author of young adult fiction. She grew up the youngest of three children, an Air Force brat, and the continual new kid at school. Her fondest memories growing up is of her eccentric, Irish grandmother’s animated tales, which gave her a strong love for storytelling. So it was only fitting that she would choose to write stories with a bend toward the fantastical. Notes and Opinions: Being able to read these one right after the other I know I will NOT be getting any sleep tonight.  I wanted to get these done ASAP because I have fallen in love with this story and world! This was another one that I couldn't put down and man it did not disappoint.  Although I didn't care for the love triangle as I thought it was not needed the rest of this book was perfect! We're back in the world of power and magic picking up where we left off in book one.  The characters had some great growth from book one to this one and I really like where the author is taking them. This story was a rollercoaster of feels and I just couldn't put it down. If you liked book one you will die hard love book two!
