#BookReview for A Risky Undertaking for Loretta Singletary (Samuel Craddock Mystery #8) by Terry Shames

Synopsis: A FAVORITE SERIES CHARACTER FINDS HERSELF IN HARM'S WAY. After using an online dating site for senior citizens, town favorite Loretta Singletary--maker of cinnamon rolls and arbiter of town gossip--goes missing. Chief Samuel Craddock's old friend Loretta Singletary--a mainstay of the Jarrett Creek community--has undergone a transformation, with a new hairstyle and modern clothes.

He thinks nothing of it until she disappears. Only then does he find out she has been meeting men through an online dating site for small-town participants.

When a woman in the neighboring town of Bobtail turns up dead after meeting someone through the same dating site, Craddock becomes alarmed.

Will Craddock be able to find Loretta before she suffers the same fate? Finding out what happened to Loretta forces him to investigate an online world he is unfamiliar with, and one which brings more than a few surprises.

My Review: This is another one I have not read the first books to it.  But I think I have gotten used to Jessica sending these to me.  You know I love a cozy mystery no matter where it sits in the series. This one was great it kept me guessing until the very end and I so SO have to check out the first 7 books in the series.  I really hope to get more from this author and this series soon.  I could see Hallmark movies & mysteries creating a ton of movies with a lot of these. It would be freaking fabulous!!

In closing this is just another great cozy mystery that I really loved.

“Engaging… Craddock is a slightly more cerebral version of the late Bill Crider's rural sheriff Dan Rhodes, but they share a bloodline.”

“Small towns in mysteries can be too cute or too weird to be true, but Jarrett Creek is the real deal and Samuel Craddock is the jewel in its crown. Flawed, complex, decent, and captivating—spending time in this town with the chief is a delight.”
