#BookReview: The Canina Thorn (The Unchosen Book 3) by Kristin J Dawson

Synopsis: Magic-welding, ice warriors to the north.

A greedy and ambitious empire to the south.
Every kingdom's fate hangs in the balance as Nicoleta blazes a daring new path.

An alliance with Auripo and its fabled warrior-prince, Asander, ensure that Dacia has at least one ally. But not even Asander is able to fully prepare the Dacian army to face the ancient magic of the north. Their powers are beyond anyone's imagination.

With the Rose Court in shambles and a foreign attack imminent, Nicoleta travels the kingdom, rallying her people to fight. She must bring old enemies together, and trust that her former suitor, Marcus, will blindly follow her plan, no matter the cost. Nicoleta must win more than a battle, or even a war; she must keep invaders from returning. But in order to unite her deeply divided kingdom, she must not only rip apart Dacian norms, but turn the magic some have feared into a weapon she  can wield.

Can Nicoleta bring her country together, before the Norte use their magic to subjugate all the kingdoms under their tyrannical rule?

The final installment of The Unchosen trilogy will take you on a gripping, page-turning, war-torn whirlwind journey, with slow-burn romance, ancient magic, and characters who will stay with you long after you close the book.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My Review: Its always sad when a loved series ends and this one was one of those.  I loved all three books and this being the last is a bitter sweet moment.  I loved all the characters and really enjoyed the ending.  I hope that the author comes back later and does a small update or something so we know how these characters are fairing in their world.  The pacing was again fabulous and the story was pretty perfect.

Kristin J. Dawson is a non-recovering chocolate and romantic English movie addict who loves to read science fiction and fantasy. You can find her most often indulging her favorite things at 2 am -- night owls unite! Kristin writes high fantasy with political intrigue, a bit of romance, and of course, magic. When she’s not writing, toting her kids around to sports practices, or cleaning out the chicken coop, she's probably trying to talk her author friends into more shenanigans.
