#BookReview: It Ends with Us by @ColleenHoover

Synopsis: Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up
— she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

My Review:
I always start Colleen's books without knowing anything about them. I just dive in and start reading. So once I figured out that book was about domestic abuse I was even more interested. This is by far one of my favorite books by Hoover. I myself was in an abusive marriage years ago. And I can say leaving for me was one of the hardest things I've done. I had a two year old daughter to keep safe. It all came to a head when we had a very large fight and I ended up in the ER with a bruised back. That was my limit. Lucky for me I had my mom and grandma to fall back on.

Being abused by someone you love is one of the worst things to experience and leaving them is a very hard choice. I really loved that this book covered so much of what these women and men go through.

This book will fill your heart with love and then blow it all to hell. Just to have you fall in love again. Lily and Ryle go through so much. And I felt for them though each page I read. Both characters were so head strong and the story was so heart ripping!

I was almost at the end of this one and thought I was going to get out of crying. Ya I was so wrong. As the last few pages concluded I could feel the tears start to stream down my face. Ya I'm a sap lol. I would have to say that out of all the stories I've read by Hoover that this one is flawless.

'What determines a person's character aren't the mistakes we make. It's how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses'
