This one hooked me right away with its vibe—like if you took Zutara energy, tossed in a tortured royal, and wrapped it all in a slow-burning war drama. The writing is stunning, pulling you into every sharp, dangerous decision the main character makes. Ruying walks this tightrope of vulnerability and power, and watching her evolve is half the thrill. Antony gives off peak broody prince energy, and their chemistry simmers even in the middle of chaos. There's even a shared bed moment (yes, really), but no spice because, well... life-threatening missions come first. It also has echoes of that generational magic fade you see in stories like The Poppy War, with just a splash of sci-fi to keep things feeling fresh. Honestly, can’t wait to see where it all goes next.
