Despite being swallowed by misery, as time goes by, it becomes harder not to fall for this man. And he doesn't bother hiding it either. Wears his heart on his sleeve and bares his loyalty like the crest in his armor.
Except there's no way for us to be together...ever. He says there's no escape for him in the Underworld, that this is all we'll ever be. That he'll help me win this war and then leave me to find someone I deserve.
But he's the man I want -- and I won't stop until I find a way.

My Review:
This was a really good ride overall, even though I didn’t realize I was jumping in at book 6 😅 That definitely left me a bit lost at times with the larger story and context.
Even so, I still enjoyed the emotional tension, the stakes, and the connection between the characters. Once I settled in, it was easy to stay engaged and just go with it.
The audiobook narration was great and really helped keep me immersed. Overall, a solid 4 star listen, but I definitely recommend starting the series from the beginning so you don’t miss everything I clearly did 😂
