#TMI #Tuesday #4: @Amazon #Prime

Welcome to the 4th post for TMI.  This weeks question deals with Amazon Prime.  Do you have it? Do you know what it is and what it gives you? Well find out below! And also you can try a 30 day trial!

Ive had a ton of people want to know more about Amazon Prime!   So this week's TMI will be talking about it.  Is it worth it? Should you do something else?

Ok so what is Amazon Prime?

Receive all the benefits of Amazon Prime including FREE Two-Day Shipping for eligible purchases, unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows with Prime Instant Video, and the ability to borrow books from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library for $99 a year.

The benefits include:
  • FREE Two-Day Shipping on eligible items to addresses in the contiguous U.S. and other shipping benefits. For more information, go to Amazon Prime Shipping Benefits.
  • Prime Instant Video: unlimited streaming of movies and TV episodes for paid or free trial members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
  • Prime Music: unlimited, ad-free access to hundreds of Prime Playlists and more than a million songs for members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. For more information, go to About Prime Music.
  • Kindle Owners' Lending Library: access to members in the U.S. For more information, go toKindle Owners' Lending Library
  • Kindle First: Early access for members in the U.S. to download a new book for free every month from the Kindle First picks. For more information, go to Kindle First.
  • Prime Pantry: Access to Prime Pantry, where members can purchase and ship to addresses in the contiguous U.S. low priced grocery, household, and pet care items for a flat delivery fee of $5.99 for each Prime Pantry box. Prime Pantry orders cannot be shipped to addresses in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
  • Membership Sharing: Prime members may invite up to four eligible household members living at the same address to enjoy the shipping benefits of a free trial or paid Prime membership at no extra cost. If you purchase a Prime membership as a small business, you may invite up to four co-workers to shop with this corporate account. For more information, go to Share Your Amazon Prime Benefits.

Ok so now with the above out there.  The membership did go up so this year I will be paying that $99 instead of the $79 that I paid last year.  So how much have I saved?  I would have to say that I don't really know.  Amazon has yet to keep track of how much Prime saves me.  But with never having to pay for shipping.  (I took the time to add up the books via this year.) Amazon Prime just via the Two Day free shipping has saved me over $200 with everything that I have shipped out.  So just that alone not even including the discount for the books and all the free movies and now music is so worth it.  Being able to borrow books is even better.  So for me its so worth it.

I did the one month free, and it was handy, but I usually just buy books, and I don't have a kindle so I think I will just renew my B&N membership for now. I mean, it does offer 3 day shipping free so is almost as good.

I use amazon for mostly kindle books. Didn't even try out the free month thing.
Maybe in the future?
