#Review of Carrier of the Mark (Carrier #1) by Leigh Fallon

Their love was meant to be.

When Megan Rosenberg moves to Ireland, everything in her life seems to fall into place. After growing up in America, she's surprised to find herself feeling at home in her new school. She connects with a group of friends, and she is instantly drawn to darkly handsome Adam DeRÍs.

But Megan is about to discover that her feelings for Adam are tied to a fate that was sealed long ago—and that the passion and power that brought them together could be their ultimate destruction.

#Review of The Feathered Bone by @JulieCantrell #Thanks @Netgalley @ThomasNelson

“Feathers—no matter what size or shape or color—are all the same, if you think about them. They're soft. Delicate. But the secret thing about feathers is . . . they are very strong.”

In the pre-Katrina glow of New Orleans, Amanda Salassi is anxious about chaperoning her daughter’s sixth grade field trip to the Big Easy during Halloween. And then her worst fears come true. Her daughter’s best friend, Sarah, disappears amid the magic and revelry—gone, without a trace.

Unable to cope with her guilt, Amanda’s daughter sinks in depression. And Amanda’s husband turns destructive as he watches his family succumb to grief. Before long, Amanda’s whole world has collapsed.

Amanda knows she has to save herself before it’s too late. As she continues to search for Sarah, she embarks on a personal journey, seeking hope and purpose in the wake of so much tragedy and loss.

Set amidst the murky parishes of rural Louisiana and told through the eyes of two women who confront the darkest corners of humanity with quiet and unbreakable faith, The Feathered Bone is Julie Cantrell’s master portrait of love in a fallen world.

#CoverReveal: The Healing Frequency by @JiulioConsiglio #hosted by @JaidisShaw

 photo Healing Frequency.png

Pain, Depression, Loss…
In the fall of 2005 the life of dental health care educator Jiulio Consiglio dramatically changed course after he awakened to the frequency and experience of inner stillness. In The Healing Frequency, Consiglio recalls the adversities he has faced such as years of intense anxiety, the death of a brother, a failed marriage and his own cancer diagnosis that ultimately led him to a shift-a miraculous shift in consciousness. Feeling his life was heading into a bottomless downward spiral, nothing could have prepared him for what the Universe had in store for him.
In this powerful and answer-filled guide to enlightenment, spiritual teacher Jiulio Consiglio offers his experience of personal suffering which created the perfect condition for him to make the quantum leap into enlightenment. After failing to find answers in the world around him, the author at the age of 33 surrendered and experienced an unimaginable and life changing awakening-the activation of the third eye.
In this book he shares the timeless wisdom of the soul and demonstrates the power, wisdom and clarity that lies dormant within all of us. As Jiulio contends, we all have the potential and ability to heal ourselves through inner transformation. Through the frequency of inner stillness he reveals that there is more to us than the thinking mind; a greater part to us, a vastness that has the ability to heal us from the separation from our Source and each other.
A timely written book as more and more people search for answers; The Healing Frequency offers you a simple invitation-an invite into the knowing of inner stillness.

#Review of The Body Finder (The Body Finder #1) by Kimberly Derting

Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes that the dead leave behind in the world... and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer.. she might become his next prey.

#Review of Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1) by @lainitaylor @lbkids

Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grows dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands", she speaks many languages - not all of them human - and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Hello NEW YEAR 2016!

Welcome to the new year!
This year a few things are going to change!  The first thing that you will prob notice is that some of the places you could follow us are gone.  Below are some of the other things that are going on this year!  We hope that this year is going to be awesome!  If there is something that you think we should do this year please comment on this post so we can email you and chat about it.  Were always looking for new things to do.
Posting
One of the biggest things you have prob realized is that we are no longer posting on the weekends. We decided that this will make it so we don't burn ourselves out this year if we have two full days a week to recoup.  If anything does happen on the Weekends it will most likely be a show.  Like the one that is coming up with the author of The Novice for our bookclub!
Following Us
We have decided to get rid things like Linkey and Networked Blogs.  The fact being that linkey hasn't moved in some time and Networked Blogs has been closed and is now a paid service.  So there was really no reason to keep those.
Next on the list is that last year we got a face lift.  So we really love the new layout!  We can have full size banners in our posts and it just looks cleaner!  We all love the wood background and the full size book covers.  We hope you do to!
Bookclub
We have an online book club!  2 books are chosen by a member each month then you can read both or one. Or if neither of them sound awesome you can just skip it. Everyone is welcome and we will be reading mostly Teen Young Adult. Want to join?  You can do so here.
You can join in with the reviews as well. Which post the end of each month.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/NYNBC/
Memes
We have a lot of new memes that are going to start posting if you would like to check those out please go here.
http://www.crossroadreviews.com/p/meme-explained.html

Reading Challenges
We all love reading. And this year we thought that something new we could do is start doing some reading challenges.  They will change every month.  Pretty much the way its going to go is well have one main series that the month will be centered around then one week dedicated to other titles that match the description.

So as an example. For Feb its going to be Fey month. So the main series is going to be the Iron Fey by Kawaga and then the week after well be doing other titles with the fey!

If you would like to join us with all these you can just comment to the post(s) with your own reviews.  Check the calendar for dates.

Booktube
I really hope that we can do more book tube!  I really love all the topics ive seen and although I'm SO not up to par with book tubers like Sasha etc.  I really do still love doing them. (watch her shows they are awesome!)  Im hoping to do a new one at least once a week or so.  If you have a topic you want us to cover just let us know!

Twitter
So on twitter we have been posting/pinning our fav books per week.  Well now that is also going to be posting to the side bar.  I hope that you guys check out these books because well if were posting them THEY ARE AMAZING!

Reviews
Well of course reviews will be the same.  Their format will not change.  The only thing that is going to change is that were going to be branching out and doing products, movies, tv shows, and more!  I hope that you guys enjoy them!

However, one ship escaped, and the aliens have captured Kelly. Shane will do whatever it takes to save her, but turning his back on his friends could jeopardize the whole mission.

The enemy invades Kelly’s mind, turning her into a slave soldier. She’ll follow their orders, even if it means murdering her friends, including her little sister and Shane. She is helpless, trapped inside her body while it performs heinous tasks under the direction of her new masters, while her sanity and desire to live fade.

Shane returns home to make a rescue attempt, only to find Kelly commanding an army of human slave soldiers, and she’s determined to make him join her ranks. Will Shane save Kelly before she gets to her sister, or will she help the enemy enslave the rest of humanity?

The Reluctant Sacrifice by @annk3rr #Review

Centuries ago, sibling rivalry tore Aramith apart. As punishment, the losers were stripped of their immortal birthright and banished to Earth. There, they wasted away from old age and diseases. However, there is hope…

If a Shaw child, born on the 12th day of the 12th month offers her soul in a public sacrifice, then the exiles will be forgiven and welcomed home to Aramith.

Aubrey Shaw is that child, but dying for the exiles is not on her to-do list. Using her gift as a Jumper, Aubrey leaps between bodies to escape relentless shape-shifting hunters. Only, shedding her skin is not enough. Not when Joshua, her best-friend-turned-hunter, is hell-bent on dragging her to the altar.

Will Aubrey’s love for Joshua change his mind?

Or, will she have to trust the scarred stranger who shows up out of the blue cloaked in lies and secrets? Doing so means giving up on Joshua. But betting on Joshua's love could do more than break her heart.

It could kill her.

#Review of Untamed (Splintered, #3.5) by @aghowardwrites #Giveaway #Thanks @ABRAMSBYR

A post-Ensnared collection of three stories—available in both print and e-versions.

Alyssa Gardner went down the rabbit hole and took control of her destiny. She survived the battle for Wonderland and the battle for her heart. In this collection of three novellas, join Alyssa and her family as they look back at their memories of Wonderland.

In Six Impossible Things, Alyssa recalls the most precious moments of her life after Ensnared, and the role magic plays in preserving the happiness of those she loves. Alyssa’s mother reminisces about her own time in Wonderland and rescuing the man who would become her husband in The Boy in the Web. And Morpheus delves into Jeb’s memories of the events of Splintered in The Moth in the Mirror, available in print for the first time.

This collection expands upon Ensnared's epilogue, and includes some deleted scenes to provide a “director’s cut” glimpse into the past and futures of our favorite Splintered characters.

After surviving a disastrous battle at prom, Alyssa has embraced her madness and gained perspective. She's determined to rescue her two worlds and the people and netherlings she loves. Even if it means challenging Queen Red to a final battle of wills and wiles . . . and even if the only way to Wonderland, now that the rabbit hole is closed, is through the looking-glass world--a parallel dimension filled with mutated and violent netherling outcasts. In the final installment of the wildly popular Splintered trilogy, Alyssa and her dad journey into the heart of magic and mayhem in search of her mom and to set right all that's gone wrong. Together with Jeb and Morpheus, they must salvage Wonderland from the decay and destruction that has ensnared it. But if they succeed and come out alive, can everyone truly have their happily ever after?
